Letters of Disagreement with Diamond-cutter.org

Below are excerpts fromsome of the few unsupportive letters that we have received. Of the 90% of letters we receive are in support of the site.

The fact that your group is maliciously spreading slander like so much poison is not obscured by the pretense that you are doing so to protect "innocent newcomers" to Buddhism. If you wish to help us, go seek out a worthier passtime that is true service to others. No true practitioner would ever malign another's teacher under the banner of Buddhist good will. We see right through your poorly motivated aggression. Others might mince words with you, but I abhore your behavior, feel utterly sickened by your malevolence and recommend that you re-think your motivation.

We know what you are doing. The site is extremely harmful. A lot of false information is being disemminated and people are getting hurt. Please take it down, or we will be forced to reveal you publicly. If however you take the site down within the next week, we can keep this between ourselves.

We are a number of your fellow dharma brothers and sisters who choose to remain unnamed for your own benefit. I believe our original email was clear, but to reiterate we are requesting that out of compassion for yourself and other sentient beings you remove the www.diamond-cutter.org website that you have created and are maintaining. If you choose not to remove the website by Wednesday, we will reveal your identity to the public.

I am amazed at how much effort and dedication you place on harming someone who has done more for Buddhism than most. I hope that one day you will understand that if you see darkness in someone else you are just reflecting the darkness in your own heart. Study emptiness and karma carefully and you will come to these realisations. I say these things to you out of concern for your own karma, do you really know who anybody really is?

Why don't you openly identify yourselves? Are you ashamed that Buddhists everywhere will recognize you as the malicious characters spending all their time maligning Geshe Michael Roach? I invite you to come out of the e-closet and tell us all why you're so invested in his personal path?

And how did these slimebuckets obtain a purported personal letter to Geshe Roach from His Holiness? I didn't see a "cc: diamond-cutter.org" in the letter, did you? As our sweet Natasha would say, these people would be right at home as members of the apartment-block KGB informants personnel that turned her in for marrying without permission in Moscow in the 70's...they probably voted for Bush/Cheney/Rove...in fact, they probably work for Scooter Libby!!

Thank you for this opportunity to burn off wrong speech karma! You appear to have good talents and have used them in such a funny little way....Good luck with your appearant wish to serve beings. Perhaps using precious time to study scriptures and vows, and to meditate more would help beings better than by wasting precious time on an ill focused gossip-based web site.

I cannot understand your concern. if Geshe Michael appears to be a holy lama to you, follow him. If he does not, forget about him. This weird anger will set seeds of discord in your own mind, so that when you do see holy beings you will doubt them - sort of like what is happening to you now. Refraining fromcreating schism in the community is a vow, you should check those vows out - good stuff.

And our personal favorite...

You, who hide in anonymous shadows.
Refusing to give your name.
Who disparage other people's Lamas.

Print out your work here.
Take it to your Holy Lama.
Offer them each page of your efforts.

Ask the Being that you regard as your guide
if what you are doing is virtuous.
Or if what you are doing will prevent you
from seeing Lamas in the future.

I know of no Tibetan Buddhist Lama,
In the great lineage of Je Tsongkapa,
The Lineage of Dalai Lamas,
Who would support what you've done here.

If you dare not show them in detail,
What you have done.
Then you know you have erred.

Should you find yourself currently
Without a close relationship with a Lama.
A glorious being who can guide you
Through the many vows that appear
To be broken in disparaging another's Lama.

Who can teach you about the
Ultimate nature of the Lama.

Then maybe, that too is a clue.

Ask your Lama, if you should keep this site up?

"When teachers break the precepts, behaving in ways that are clearly damaging to themselves and others, students must face the situation, even though this can be challenging, criticize openly, that's the only way." — His Holiness the Dalai Lama

May all beings instantly achieve every happiness, be free from any suffering, never be separated from a perfectly qualified Mahayana teacher and quickly achieve perfect, pure enlightenment in order to benefit others.

May all beings be happy!
